Title: The Dating Game |
The Dating Game
"Fancy a date, Face?"
"Sorry, Murdock, you're not my type."
"Funny guy." Murdock munched on the dates he'd bought at the convenience store they'd stopped at for food.
"So... dates." Murdock mused. "My first date was with a girl named Sue-Anne Bickham. She was taller than me at the time. I asked her out after she wrestled me to the ground for pulling her hair. We went to see a movie, I forget which one."
There was silence for a while.
"Well thanks for sharing that, Murdock." Hannibal said eventually.
"Did she put out?" Face asked.
Murdock scowled at him. "We were thirteen."
"So... is that a no?"
Murdock threw a date at him. "Tell us about your first date then."
Face shook his head, "Sorry, I can't remember much before I was about five years old."
Murdock threw another date at his smug expression. Face caught this one and bit it.
"Quit throwing dates around in my van, fool!"
"BA, what about you?" Hannibal asked, eager to distract BA and avoid bloodshed.
"Well, I guess I was kind of a late starter. First proper date I was sixteen. I borrowed my cousin Morty's T. bird to pick her up. '62 Sports Roadster, with the optional triple two barrel carbs. 340 HP. Man, that was one fine machine." He smiled nostalgically.
"Um, BA, what about the girl?" Face asked.
"What? Oh, I dunno, I think she was called Jackie or Jenny or something."
Hannibal grinned. "Now when I was a young man a date was a serious thing," he said. "You had to pick the girl up from her house and go in and talk to her father."
"Really," Face said. "I thought when you were a young man you just clubbed a girl over the head and dragged her back to your cave by her hair."
BA giggled . Hannibal frowned. "So, Face, you have a date tonight."
"I do?"
"Yes, with the three a.m. till dawn watch."
"Aw, Hannibal!"
