See Me

Please, just see me.

Dammit, I've turned into a teenage girl, hoping the cute boy will notice me. And no clue what to do if he does. Just what a man in a war zone needs, a schoolgirl crush on a junior officer.

Baracus is right. I'm a fool.

Look at you, swaggering through camp like you just bought the place. A tenderfoot lieutenant strutting like a general.

Nurses that I've personally seen take down six-foot marines with a knee to the groin blush and giggle when you turn that smile on them. I'm terrified I'll do the same if you turn it on me.

You're a shaft of sunlight in the rain. A gold nugget in the dirt. Please, I just want you to see me.

Jesus, you're coming up to me, clutching orders. Smith must want me for another crazy mission.

"Captain Murdock?" Oh god, you're speaking to me.

"Yeah." My voice squeaks. Great, I sound like my balls haven't dropped yet. And no wonder. Now I see it up close that smile's a killer. You don't need a rifle.

"Hi. I'm Lieutenant Peck." I know. News like you gets around fast.

And at last, you see me.
